Hello Zorros,

As we enter into the last month of survey collections on Backerkit, we’d just like to remind everyone to finalize their orders and input your current addresses. You can still update your products and get in any final add-ons for your rewards over the next few weeks but once the Backerkit survey collection is closed we will be locking in orders and we will not be taking on add-on requests after that point. 

On the production side, Sean has put the finishing touches on Zorro: Man of the Dead #4 and is hard-at-work crafting the bonus content for the Masterclass Edition.

 ISSUE #3 RELEASES TOMORROW

Heads up! Tomorrow (Wednesday, March 27th) will be the release of Zorro: Man of the Dead #3. All backers will receive a dropbox link in their direct message inbox to download your digital copy. Also, instructions from our digital partner Omnibus, will be sent to the email address associated with your Kickstarter on how to get access to your digital copy through their app. Great news, Omnibus is now available on all iOS devices with Android devices soon to follow! If you have not received an email for your digital rewards, please verify your pledge and check your spam/junk folder associated with the correct email to ensure you receive your rewards accordingly. We know there have been issues with folks who created their kickstarter accounts using the apple email privacy features, if that is the case, reach out and let us know. 

Due to concerns over link sharing the direct download link is not something we can leave up indefinitely, so if you'd like to have access at any point in the future we encourage you to download the pdf or use the Omnibus app steps listed in Update #20. Again, please double check that your pledge is verified, and the spam/junk folder associated with your backer account email.

KEY UPDATE: Backerkit Surveys going live today!

Hi Zorros, 

KEY UPDATE!!!

We appreciate your patience and are happy to say its time to fill out your surveys! Over the weekend we executed our smoke test on Backerkit. Meaning a small percentage of surveys were sent out to identify any problems with how we set up our Backerkit page. We did encounter a few small issues that we have since corrected. So, if you were part of this weekends focus group, please go back into Backerkit to verify your survey as it may be incomplete due to updates we made. 

One key error we discovered was in regards to the 48 hour Early-Bird "Poster" variant. For anyone who purchased this add-on at $1, you will have a $1 credit on your account as we manually added the FREE copy to your account as promised. That $1 credit can be applied to any additional purchases made through Backerkit, or will automatically apply to your shipping fees. If you backed a physical tier in the first 48 hours, you will receive the poster variant as a complimentary item and don't need to do anything to receive the book. Anyone who purchased additional copies of it at the $15 price will see that as a standard add-on in their rewards list. You can also still buy additional copies (limited quantity available) of the Poster variant and others in the Backerkit Add-On store.  

We also added an opt-in/out question to the surveys for the 3 free books that were unlocked during the campaign. These books will contribute to the shipping calculation so if you prefer not to get those, just select no. If you select yes, those will be added to your rewards on the following page. (note: Comic Shops that backed the Retailer tier will not see this question but will receive multiple copies of each as a thank you)

Lastly, since we are talking about shipping, our goal is to create the most secure and cost effective shipping process once we have books in hand. we will be calculating shipping once we have concluded the survey window and are preparing to ship your books. You will receive an email from Backerkit at that time giving one last chance to verify the shipping before we charge the card on file. 

We will update the FAQ page on Backerkit and Kickstarter if we encounter any issues that weren't flagged in the Smoke Test phase. Please check the FAQ page before contacting us in case we've already posted an answer to your question/concern.

We hope you all had an amazing holiday season and a safe New Year’s celebration.

By bringing such incredible support to our first Massive Publishing Kickstarter campaign, you ended our 2023 in the best way we could have ever imagined. The success of Sean Gordon Murphy’s vision for the legendary Zorro was definitely the highlight of our year. Thank YOU again!

Now in 2024, it’s our turn to give back to you! Next week, we will be sending you the first digital issue of Zorro: Man of the Dead. Starting from there, you will receive one digital issue every month until the completion of the full graphic novel. We have partnered with the Omnibus platform to deliver access to all the digital rewards you will receive for backing the campaign in one easy to access location. On October 10th, Instructions on how to claim your rewards will be emailed directly to the address associated with your Kickstarter account from Omnibus, so keep an eye out and make sure to check your spam folder just in case.

As you may have noticed we pushed back our BackerKit surveys to allow everyone the time to focus on family and friends during the holiday season. With the holidays now firmly in the rear view we are preparing to send out access to your Backerkit surveys where you’ll be able to access additional products, revise shipping information and keep up to date with reward fulfillment. We will be making limited quantities available of some of the variants and reward tiers offered during the campaign including some of the late campaign add-ons such as the “video chat with Sean Murphy.”  We have opted to do the BackerKit process in two steps; the first, a window of time to adjust your order and add on products that will run from January 'till we begin fulfillment (while supplies last) and the second step being a shipping fee collection that will happen just before we begin shipping rewards to ensure the most accurate pricing and delivery.

(note: For international backers, we have partnered with EasyShip to collect your shipping/duty fees and ensure there aren’t any issues getting your rewards to wherever you call home.)

This Monday, December 11th, will be the final day to pre-order Zorro: Man of the Dead #1 at your local comic shop. We have twelve unique covers that will be releasing exclusively in comic book stores this January. To ensure a shop near you will have the covers you are looking for, swing by your local comic retailer and ask them to add your copy before Diamond's upcoming final order cutoff.

In addition to those special retailer variants that were unlocked during this Kickstarter campaign, Zorro: Man of the Dead has more comic shop exclusive cover designs that many of you may have missed.
